Solar Developers Install Solar Panels On Roofs Of Others

Many businesses and homeowners cannot afford the upfront cost required to purchase a solar electric system. However, solar developers are installing solar systems on the roofs of others if the building owner agrees to a 10 year contract to purchase the electricity generated from the solar panels.

When you look at the pure economics of installed solar systems for most end users, leasing (or renting) makes sense for a wide variety of commercial and residential customers. This article does a nice job of introducing the concept and letting potential solar users know there are options besides straight up purchase. I am particularly excited about Citizenre, a new U.S.-based company that is offering a low cost, solar service that provides the benefits of solar ownership without the associated hassles. Robroy can tell you more!
